Neue Schule - Turtle Top with Flex Loose Ring Snaffle When combined with the loose ring cheek, the Turtle Top with Flex lozenge results in an uncomplicated and mild action bit. Due to the unique angle which the rings are attached to the bit, the mouthpiece alignment remains the same regardless of rein tension therefore offering the horse stability in the mouth. As the cannons (arms) of the bit keep the lozenge centred, thus reducing movement, this bit is ideal for horses that try to evade the bit by getting there tongue over the bit as the bit almost remains fixed in position. The Turtle Top with Flex mouthpiece features a gentle curvature to the underside of the cannons which hugely increases tongue contact thus reducing the severity of the action of the mouthpiece; this has proved valuable in over sensitive horses as the contact is distributed over a greater surface area. The Turtle Top with Flex mouthpiece from Neue Schule is inspired by the traditional double jointed Tranz Angled Lozenge bit design but offers an improved mouthpiece which sits more uniformly in the horse’s mouth following the contours of the lips, tongue and upper palate. The gently curved cannons of the bit provide an arch shape over the tongue securing the Turtle Top lozenge in the correct position. The Turtle Top mouthpiece has gained its name due to its unique shape which replicates the shell of the Box turtle. The shape of the lozenge is unlike anything on the market and is the shape of a flattened dome which reduces palate pressure and prevents the cannons (arms) of the bit being pushed up in the mouth. Therefore, the mouthpiece sits far more evenly within the horse’s mouth and results in reduced movement within the mouth making it more favourable for fussy horses. When in the mouth, this unique lozenge design ensures that the bit sits evenly and uniformly within the horse’s mouth. |
